Fit for ME, Fit for LIFE | Aurelia & Amanda

On 15th November last year, I joined Aurelia Kelly and the ladies at Me at 8 to share my story of maternal mental illness and the work of Have you seen that girl?

At the event, those attending that evening came forward, one at a time, to put a candle in an empty basket, which Aurelia had given me.

Each of the candles represented a mile I had travelled to get to the Parish Church of Ballyscullion.

It was a very moving moment, as Mums who also experienced PND were the first to come forward.

Following on from that, Aurelia and Amanda McCallion have joined forces to reach more women, in their local area, with “Fit for Me, Fit for LIFE”

This will take place over 4 Wednesdays Evenings in May and is a joint collaboration between  5 Parishes running 1 Event:

– 9th May – Amanda and Aurelia with be speaking

– 16th May – Liz Weir – Author and Storyteller will join the event

– 23rd May – Lorraine McCaw from Belfast City Mission is their guest.

– 30th May – the team have invited me back for a a very special vintage supper!  This is a fundraiser for Bags of Hope and work for Have you seen that girl?

I’m so thankful for their support and delighted to see the wonderful work of both Aurelia and Amanda progressing.

This is exactly what the Have you seen that girl? movement is all about and they are both now an important part of it!

Amanda and Aurelia both suffered from Postnatal Depression and are very passionate about Ladies’ Ministry

They  launched “Fit for ME, Fit for LIFE” on Saturday 14th April from Hillstown Farmshop at a breakfast!
